Drew put his hat on and pulled it down just enough to where I could still see his eyes. He finally answered, and it wasn’t what I expected at all. “You’re the first girl I’ve ever seen surfing around here. I mean really surfing, not just messing around. That interested me. That’s why I talked to you those times. Because you were different. Like me. You’re a risk-taker, but something’s holding you back. Something happened to you. That’s why you’re here. That’s why you mostly keep to yourself. That’s why you have those walls up.” I felt my eyes narrowing in anger. I didn’t like this at all. Everything he was saying was true. And it pissed me off. I slid off the seat and stood. “I have to go.” I started walking toward the door and I had just picked up my surfboard when he said, “Leah, wait. I’m sorry.” I turned around. He got up and moved toward me. “It’s raining like crazy, it’s still windy. At least let me drive you home. I looked out the window and saw that it was still quite blustery. Walking home with this surfboard wouldn’t have been much fun. And it was only a short distance, which meant I wouldn’t have to put up with him for long. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book took me by surprise it’s been a little while since a book has sucked me in so much! Abbi is a fun loving girl who has moved to LA from small town Georgia. Her first night working at a very popular bar she literally stumbles into the arms of Ryan Dixon a bodyguard to a rapper who is at the bar. Ryan owns his own bodyguard business and is rich and well known around LA.  Trent, Abbi’s boss has the hots for her, she isn’t interested as she thinks it’s wrong as he her boss. Things aren’t right at the bar and Trent is keeping secrets which causes for Abbi, Judy and Ashley to be put in harm’s way.

Fate kept intervening with Ryan and Abbi they found themselves running into each other and I found myself eagerly waiting for it to happen, I enjoyed the playful banter that went on between them. I loved Abbi, Judy and Ashley’s friendship, so honest with each other and so quick with retorts and always there for each other, I found myself laughing out loud a fair bit. I love all the characters and their personalities. I’m glad Ryan’s first thought of Abbi was ‘what would she like to do for fun and how would she like her eggs cooked’ and not what she would be like in bed.

This book had everything romance, mystery and fun loving characters you could easily fall in love with. I highly recommend this book! It is very well written and Jennifer loves to leave you hanging so be prepared!. Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to read and review.

Vicki Green grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and currently resides in Olathe, Kansas. Along with her husband and two teenage boys, she shares her home with her cocker spaniel’s Shadow and Mocha. She has been working full time at the same Company for 35 years. Her life has been filled with the most loving and caring parents, who are both gone now but are still in her heart and mind daily.

This book was captivating from the beginning.  Sahara is lost in her own world of pain and hurt after an accident destroys her life.  The accident takes away her father, and destroys her relationship with her best friend Emily, and the love of her life Emmanuel.  After the accident she moves far away from the only family she has ever known, her best friends family.  Ten years pass by with her merely existing, and being closed off from everyone. She finally meets Tyree, a wonderfully compassionate man who steals her heart.  Time catches up with her and she is faced with her past again, when she must face her best friend  and the man she grew up loving.  Needless to say, without going into too much detail that Emmanuel and Tyree face off when she has to decide who she wants to be with. The ending tore me up and now I have book hangover.

I enjoyed the book and gave it five stars. This book was well written, and the author slowly revealed the secrets of the book. There were some minor editing issues throughout the book.   I also found at times there was a frustrating amount of explanation, way too much detail. There was also a cliffhanger ending, which will force me to stalk the author now to find out when the next book in the series comes out.   However, overall I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend this read to others.

Review

I had the opportunity to read an ARC copy of this fantastic book. This book kept me going, it took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and my heart rate spiked in a lot of places throughout this book.

I fell in love with all the characters they all had their unique personalities Mags a widow after her husband was killed in a military accident, and she is trying to build her life again, there is Cali her best friend, who is always there for her and these two girls love a good girlie day/night with lots of drinking. Then there is Walker, oh my goodness muscular and tattooed, just yummy! Enough said.

This story had me guessing all the time there is surprise after surprise which I really loved. The story is very well written, although it will leave you hanging with an ending you just didn’t see coming at all! I look forward to the next book, I cannot wait!

I really enjoyed this book, Michelle has done a great job with this book. There were a lot of different situations going on but Michelle never strayed far from the main storyline. I felt it was dragged out a little but there was always something going on which kept me interested and then it hit its peak and I couldn’t put it down I just wanted to find out what was going to happen with Lacey and Caleb and Lacey’s Father. Michelle had me guessing everyone in this book and even right up until the person was exposed I still never guessed that person, I love that in books.

I love how Michelle built the characters they are easy to relate to. I recommend this book if you love reading romance and suspense! I look forward to getting started on Michelle’s next book.
