"You feel that heat? It's coming from my undercarriage." I recently heard this quote about a movie and I automatically thought of Scarlett Red. The heat that comes off the pages when Talia and Bash are together kept me quite warm for the hours it took me to read it (couldn't put it down, so it was a quick read). The only time I did take a break was so that I could 'cool down.'
While the heat kept me warm, it was the mystery and suspense that kept me glued to the story until it was finished. While I learned a little more about Talia and Bash, and some of my suspicions about Talia's past were unfortunately confirmed, I still have questions that I look forward to finding answers to in Blackest Red, which comes out February 24 (a date highlighted on my calendar!).
If you enjoy stories with romance, intrigue, suspense, and well-developed characters, I highly recommend the In the Shadows series by P.T. Michelle. The first, Mister Black, is a novella, so it is a quick read, but Scarlett Red is novel-length (for which I am very grateful).
*I was given an ARC of Scarlett Red in return for an honest review. Honestly, I can't get enough!
Mister Black swept in and out of my life like a tornado, leaving me twisted up and forever changed in his wake.
And now that my life is finally back on track, I need to move on, despite the many reminders of our time together.
But our pasts are only as far away as the shadows we hide behind, and sometimes those shadows grow darker, converging on the present in the most insidious way.
He is Black: a stealthy hunter and rainbow master.
I am Red: a truth seeker and desire keeper.
Together we are obsession. Passionate colors destined to be drawn together.
Note: Scarlett Red is meant for readers 18+ due to mature content. Scarlett Red is part 2 of the In the Shadows series and is novel-length at 275 print pages. You should read part 1, before reading Scarlett Red.
