*REVIEW* Darkest Embrace ( The Lanistter Chronicles #1 ) by Robyn M Pierce

Reviewer: Donna
Rating: 3 Stars

In all honestly, i can't actually say whether i like this book or not. For most of the book i was quite confused with the vampire brothers that lived in the castle and Elyssa, who seeks shelter at the castle during a thunder storm which you find out was not a random occurrence and one of the brothers was involved with her appearing at the castle. When i got to about 70% of the book, the story did start to get interesting with one of the brothers, Reid being possessed by their dead father who's soul mission was to kill Elyssa. From then i really enjoyed it but up to that part, i felt the story had no depth to it.  There are four brother but the story is based around two, Zeke and Reid. They both love Elyssa but she is mated to Reid so Zeke can't be with her. I think the book could have been a bit shorter as i felt that there were a few chapters that i didn't really think were needed. I am going to read book two as i did love the ending of this book and i am interested to see what happens in this castle of vampires.

While running away to escape the actions of her deceased father, Elyssa Smith is caught in the worst storm that Lanistter Isle has ever seen, forcing her to seek shelter in the only place nearby -- Lanistter Castle. Soon, however, it's made clear that the inhabitants of the castle are the ones she's running away from in the first place.

Zeke Lanistter is the head of the European Lanistter branch -- and a sadist through and through. He has bloody plans for Elyssa, and will stop at nothing to get rid of her.

Reid Lanistter is known by many for his womanizing. But when Elyssa enters the castle, he does all he can to protect her from Zeke, unexpectedly morphing into a one-woman man.

In a sinister turn of events, Reid becomes the danger to Elyssa's life, and it’s Zeke who finds himself doing whatever he can to protect Elyssa...
