* REVIEW * - Monster by Francette Phal

Reviewer : Kaylene
Rating : 4 1/2 stars

Awesome book, intense and a little dark...

Monster is a story about a very damaged man Dominic Armstrong who marries Eden Mercer a woman who only married him for the half a million dollar pay day.  Dominic is a very cruel, sadistic man and lives up to his title of monster as he is extremely abusive toward his wife.  He is a dominant male and has a terrifying past that makes you feel pity for him.

Eden, even though she denied it was incredibly attracted to Dominic and she was drawn to his darkness.  During their marriage they were virtual strangers and he would shower her with all sorts of gifts in the materialistic sense but he was not able to give her anything else.

I cannot really go into the book plot much more because it will give it away but I really enjoyed the way this story was told and where it went.  If there was any sort of criticism it was that it ended too soon.  This story was written in the third person which is something I usually do not enjoy but with this book it didn't bother me at all.  I will certainly be reading more by this author.  I give this book 4 ½ stars, it’s a great read and I thoroughly recommend it.

Accidental Gold digger.

Circumstance forced Eden Mercer to sell herself to Dominic Armstrong for half a million dollars and in return she is to play the dutiful wife in public and submit to him completely behind closed doors.

The Tyrant.

Dominic is Ruthless, manipulative and sadistic but Eden is determined not to break under his cruelty. But how does one persevere when in the clutches of a Monster?
