*REVIEW* Three Rivers (Gateway To Love #1) by Chloe T.Barlow

Reviewer: Donna
Rating: 5 Stars

WOW what an awesome book and i'm so so gutted it's over. I could read about Althea and Griffen over and over again, it was that awesome!

Althea is married to Jack. At Christmas, Althea gets a knock at the door to tell her that Jack had been involved in a car accident and has died. To top it all off, Althea finds out that she pregnant.

The story moves on 5 years to when Althea and Jack's son is 5 years old and Althea is still finding it really hard to move on. Jenna and Aubrey, Althea's best friends decide that she needs to get out and start living again so they end up at a bar and that's where she meets Griffen.

Griffen is a writer, playboy and lives in New York but due to work, he has had to travel back to his home town. Griffen doesn't want to be there and can't wait until his two weeks are up but low and behold he spots Althea and decides that she is just what he needs.

When they meet, there is a mutual attraction and before long, there are back at his hotel room. After some mind blowing sex, Althea sneaks out vowing that it was a one night stand and he won't have to see him again.

AND she doesn't expect him to turn up at her son's birthday, introduced as Nicky Griffen Tate, Jack's best friend who he grew up with!!!!

Loved this part! so very funny. From then on they decided to have fun and enjoy each others company for the two weeks that Griffen is in town. They are both not looking for anything serious so it's the perfect idea, or so they think.

The story continues from there really. A lot of sad and confusing times for both of them. Both characters are fantastic! LOVE Griffen! So sexy, charming and the things he says *sigh*. Real swoon worthy, i'm telling you! I started reading this from hearing about it from a friend and i'm so glad i did. Really looking forward to read more about Jenna in book 2 of the Gateway To Love Series. This is definitely a book that is well worth reading!

How do you start over when you gave everything to one life, one plan, and lost it all?

Althea refuses to allow herself to love again. Imprisoned in grief at twenty-four after her husband’s sudden death, she’s convinced her heart died along with him. She spends her days honoring his memory by clinging to the legal career he helped her to build and to the remaining pieces linking them together.

Griffen’s been running from his past. Despite success as an author and investigative journalist, he’s been traveling through life on autopilot. For a decade, he’s chosen perilous adventures and meaningless sex over the danger of any attachments. When he finally returns home to Pittsburgh, he’s slammed by the awakened memories and regret he’s spent years trying to escape.

A chance encounter brings them together. Their instant desire for each other – and the bond they discover between them – shocks them both. Despite her best efforts, Althea can’t resist Griffen’s charm or his intriguing proposition – if she agrees to a no-strings affair with him for the two weeks he’s in town, he swears he’ll walk away when their time is up. Assured she can test the waters of a new life while keeping her vow never to betray her husband’s memory by opening her heart to another, Althea throws herself into the escape Griffen provides her.

Their perfect plans go awry when the intensity of their connection overwhelms them. Will they risk it all on the chance of something great together…or will the power of their secrets and guilt tear them apart?
