Author: KM Golland
Re-Releasing 1st May 2014
~Synopsis~
You can close your eyes to the things you don’t want to see, but you can’t close your heart to the things you don’t want to feel…
Alexis Summers is happily married and a mother of two gorgeous children. She’s been a stay-at-home mum for nine years now, but it’s time for a change.
Starting a new job with a prestigious hotel, she’s excited about her new career. Her boss, the hotel’s owner Bryce Clark, is rich, gorgeous, funny, single and, as Alexis quickly learns, a genuinely nice guy looking for his one true love.
He is also a man who always gets what he wants. And what he wants is Alexis.
The intense chemistry between them is undeniable — but Alexis is happily married to Rick, and no matter how strong her feelings are for Bryce, she is adamant she will not betray her husband and family. She draws a line in the sand but finds it increasingly difficult not to cross. Will she succumb to temptation?

~Our Review~

Rating: 5 Stars
What a surprise this book was. When I one clicked this I wasn’t sure how I would react to unfaithfulness in a marriage but how wrong was I. This book is hot, so hot it was burning my fingers but I couldn’t put it down.
Alexis is happily married or so she thought to her husband, when Bryce rocks her world and turns it upside down. Alexis started working again after having her children and on her first day spills coffee all over her new boss Mr Bryce Clark (hotness personified). They seem to have an instant connection and she fights with her conscience about the feelings she is having for Bryce, after all, I reiterate, she’s happily married.
There was some frustration in this book because I wanted them to get it on, but you know it’s so very wrong. The emotion in this book at times had me wanting to turn the pages quickly but also throw it against the wall.
There are some laugh out loud funny moments, Alexis is a hoot.
I cannot wait for the second book in this series and I will be one clicking it as soon as its available. Well done Ms Golland, your writing skills are exceptional and your sense of humour is fantastically fun to read.

~Interview with KM Golland~
We recently got the chance to ask KM Golland a few questions. Here's how it went!
Which
writers have influenced you the most?
I wouldn’t say that any particular
writers have influenced me to write, as the inspiration to pen my first book
pretty much came out of nowhere. There are authors who I admire and enjoy
reading though, and they are Sylvia Day, John Marsden, Pepper Winters, Tiffany
Reisz, Zack Love, and of course the legendary Dr Seuss.
What
inspired your idea for this book?
I think it was the aspiration to
create a story that was a good balance of fantasy and real life. A story you
could escape in yet relate to. I also wanted to write something sexy but that
also made you laugh. I’m a huge advocate of a good snort outburst.
What
issues do you think your book raises and how do you think it affects its
readers?
The most prominent issues, I think, are that of infidelity and temptation,
which is what the title of the book suggests. A lot of people can be put off by
such a topic. But this is where some of those real life elements I mentioned
before come in to play.
Ignoring the evils of life, in my opinion, is naive. So I don’t
omit them in my writing. But that doesn’t mean I glorify them either. I just
accept that they are a part of our every day lives.
How long did it take you to write this book?
From the
moment I opened my laptop and wrote ‘Chapter One’ until the moment I pressed
that final full stop, it was just over one and a half months.
Being my first ever attempt at writing, how quickly this book
was created even surprised me, LOL. Mind you it was a first draft and in need
of A LOT of TLC.
What
is your writing routine like and do you have a special place to write?
I’m going to
confess that my special writing place does not adhere to Occupational Health
and Safety standards, being that I sit cross-legged on my living room sofa with
my laptop. There is no office, no desk, no ergonomically designed chair; just
me, my sofa and my laptop.
Is
there any advice you would like to give someone who’d like to become a
published writer?
Be true to yourself and your own style. Don’t try and mimic
others in the field. At the end of the day, a book will always speak for
itself.
You have to have the ability to back yourself and know, to an
extent, what you are getting into. Oh, and hire a professional editor to go
through your MS with a fine toothed-comb. When I first self-published
Temptation, I did not do that and it was the biggest mistake and subsequent lesson
I have learned thus far.
When
you are not writing what do you like to do?
When I am not writing? What’s that? LOL. Can I rephrase this question? Okay,
how about this: Before I became a writer... I loved what most wives and mothers
love, spending quality time with their family. Going on holiday and short
weekend trips to the beach. I’m also a big sports fan and love my Essendon
Bombers and car racing.
Maybe when I am not so crazy busy, I can fit some of those
things back into my life ☺
What
does your family think of your writing?
My husband thinks it’s great, even
though he has had to pick up a lot of the tasks that I no longer have time to
do. He enjoys it when I read the books to him and also doesn’t mind the
research I have to... um... look into. But we won’t go into that right now.
My son thinks it’s ‘cool’ that his mum is an author, and is
forever telling anyone who will listen... which can be just a tad embarrassing
at times. But my daughter probably hates it because she has suffered the most
where my time and attention are concerned. I’m hoping that when she is old
enough she will understand that Mummy is a busy writing bee.
When
did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I never knew writing was something
I wanted to do until I actually started doing it. Without trying to sound
obnoxious, it just came naturally to me.
So I think it may have been the point where I read back my first
chapter, smiled to myself, and said ‘That’s not bad for a novice, but more
importantly, that was so much fun do.’
Do
you hear from your readers and what kinds of things do they tell you?
Yes, all the
time. And I absolutely love it. It makes writing stories for people that much
more enjoyable.
I try to respond to every message I receive or every comment I
am tagged in on Facebook, but it is becoming increasingly hard. I did say at
the very beginning of my writing career though, that I would put aside time every
day in order to interact with my readers and fans, and I will endeavor to do
that.
What do my readers say? That I’m awesomesauce and the Zeus of
the author world... okay, well no they don’t exactly say THAT, but they do
write and tell me how much they appreciated my books and want to know when they
next instalments are due out. Oh, and a lot of my American readers tell me how
much they love the Aussie-isms I use. Like ‘arse’ and ‘cuppa’.☺
What
can we look forward to from you in the future?
More books! More grey hairs! <--
not that anyone looks forward to those.
Basically, I plan to write until I am unable to do so. So keep
an eye out for my upcoming releases. ♥
And
now for some non book related questions :)
What
do you remember of your first kiss?
It took be by complete surprise!
What
was the most creative pick-up line that has been used on you or you used on
someone else?
‘You smell like trash, may I take you out?’ Yep... that was used
on me at a local nightclub many years ago. I also feature it in my next
release, Attraction.
Personally, I thought it was a great line and would’ve totally
given the guy my number had I not been engaged and in love.
What
do you do when you think no one is watching?
Nothing I wouldn’t do when someone
is watching, except maybe get undressed, LOL.
What
are your favourite songs? Do you have a
playlist you listen to for inspiration?
I am a playlist junkie and have a
Spotify account, so please follow me. ☺
As for favourite songs, I have MANY and mention a few in the Temptation Series. ‘November Rain’ by
Guns N’ Roses, ‘Stairway to Heaven’ by Led Zeppelin, ‘Birth’ by Thirty Seconds
to Mars and ‘Need You Tonight’ by INXS are just to name a few.
What
was your favourite childhood book?
Fox In Socks
What
is your favourite addition to chocolate?
*Shouty caps needed* PEANUT BUTTER!
Beside
your own stories, what is your favourite series and who wrote it?
Oooh that’s
tough. There are so many awesome series out there and written by extremely
talented authors. But the two series that never seem to leave my mind are The
Original Sinners Series by fellow Harlequin author, Tiffany Reisz, and The Rock
Chick Series by Kristen Ashley.
What would you
be doing if you didn’t become an Author?
Hmm...
life has many twists and turns so I cannot answer that question with accuracy.
But, if I was to hazard a guess, probably Conveyancing.
Thank you KM Golland!
